*Your child will have a new Planner Page in their Home Folder each week. Most of the time it will be to read 20-30 minutes a night, 1 Second Step assignment to do with an adult at home, and 1-2 pages of math for the week Please watch the video under the Homework tab to see the research about homework at this age! All I ask is that any homework assigned is turned in by Friday. I understand that life is busy and we all forget things sometimes. Remind your child of this if they are ever stressing about forgetting it or that it's going to be late.
**Hopefully your child already gave you this paper and told you it's your homework:) The Back to School Parent Questionnaire will guide our Connecting Conversations! I encourage you to fill it out before we meet so we can focus on what is most important for me to hear during our conversation time. Wednesday I will send home an envelope for you to seal it in and send it back in. These really do help me throughout the school year!!!
I try to take pictures during the day so you can see what's going on in class and I will give weekly "Family Questions" for you to engage your chid in school conversations and connect at home, along with knowing the content being covered in class. I only took a few pics in the morning and individual shots at the end of the day today...
Random Fun Fact-I realized a few years ago why kids say "good" "nothing" when you ask them how there day was/what they did that day because I started saying the same thing to my husband when he asked, ha! We do A LOT from 7:50-2:45...it's honestly hard to remember until later in the evening or even days later.
